    you code what was done and dictated in the op report and thats that..... anything else is fraud. If you want to make sure then speak to the surgeon and bring your books and show the surgeon this is why we have to code it this way.:)

    hands down ACCURACY!!!!:) If the coder is fast and there is a potential to make mistakes and would delay payment or no payment altogether. If the coder is accurate reimbursment and compliance would not be an issue. You can be fined or worse for non compliance, up or down coding.
