    wow thank you so much, this has been very helpful. I'm thinking of trying Practicode, just one module the easiest module with codify. I just want to experience an encoder program for coding and see what it is like. Which module of Practicode is the easiest.

    Has anybody tried an encoder program for their coding? What is it like, is it much easier to code reports? I know AAPC has practicode and codify, is codify just like find a code or is it an actual encoder program?

    Yes I made the mistake of going to the wrong college and joining AAPC. As the old saying goes "If I only knew then what I know now" I would've gone with AHIMA all the way. AAPC is a profit organization, while AHIMA is a nonprofit organization, which is why AHIMAs dues don't go up every year.

    Why don't you look into clinical document specialist, they want nurses for clinical documentation because of their nursing experience.

    If your young go for CCS through AHIMA. I'm in the same situation exactly as you, since 2017. Go for AHIMA, way better. I'm having doubts about paying this year too, since I will never get a coding job, can't even get a medical clerk job because no experience. If younger I would go to AHIMA...
