Wiki removal of intraoral gingival cyst

Can anyone help with a CPT code for excision of intraoral gingival cyst? The surgeon selected CPT code 21048 but I don't think that is correct. I think that's more work than what he actually performed. He stated it merely as "a white cyst in the upper gingiva near the canine" and that he "used a...

Wiki Excision of rt middle turbinate?

You would not code the excision of the middle turb. The middle turb provides access to the sinus cavities, so it is included in the sinus code.

Ooops I didnt catch that it was an antrochoanal polyp...that does change things. 31032 is more than simply removing the polyp by the description. It does not state that he must use an endoscope.

There's not much information to go on but did you look at 30110 & 30115? If he did do it endoscopically, he'll need to correct the op report to state that.:)

The current dx codes given for the surgery are: deviated septum, hypertrophic inferior turbinates, nasal obstruction, acquired nasal deformity, previous nasal trauma and late effect of crushing wound of nose. Do you agree, Debra, that the "previous nasal trauma" should the be V code? thanks!
