    Wiki CPC employment

I am having a similar problem. I finished Practicode to go from CPC-A to CPC, submitted 18 CEUs, and started listening to the AAPC podcast. (I even added these to the education section of my resume.) I've been seeking jobs since the beginning of this month, but I haven't been invited to any...

The documentation: How am I supposed to know that the code for the operating microscope (69990) is bundled into codes 63051 and 63001? I didn't see this specified in the guidelines for either of these codes, or in the guidelines at the beginning of the section.

I just tried another case (OPD7278) and looked carefully this time at the "code also" notes, in both Codify and the code books. Apparently I was expected to code Z95.1 (presence of aortocoronary bypass graft) and Z95.5 (presence of coronary angioplasty implant and graft), despite neither of...

The only diagnosis code was R55, syncope and collapse. In almost all the previous cases, whenever hypertension and smoking were reported in the current problems list (even if not in the diagnoses), I was expected to code them. But, I will pay more attention to the "code also" notes from now...

But the social history says that the patient is a current smoker. Also, there were other Practicode cases in which I was supposed to code nicotine dependence (cigarettes) when the case didn't specify what substance was being smoked, or even that there was a dependence.

Wiki Coding for different insurance types?

What do beginning CPC medical coders need to know about coding for different insurance types (Medicare, private payer, etc.)? I feel that the CPC course and textbook didn't go over this enough, and I didn't find good resources explaining this online.

I'm a beginning CPC coder just finishing Practicode. I've been using the hard copy books in combination with the free version of Codify, but I want to buy the e-books for next year. Wiki When do I report tests?

I'm working on Practicode for CPC right now. For E/M encounters, I've noticed that the answer key often does not report the tests (such as labs, X-rays, CT scans, or EKGs), even when there seems to be enough info provided in the documentation to select codes for them. Why is this?
