    just rememer in order to **** for the RHIT or even the RHIA exam you need an associates in Health Information Technology. And they will only accept that degree just for you to sit for the test. CCS there are no requirements like that.

    when it comes to gi you use a 51 if you are doing an upper and a lower procedure and you use a 59 if you are doing more than 1 upper or more than 1 lower. example colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy by snare would be 45385,45380-59. Colonoscopy and EGD would be 45380,43235-51.

    The coding salary survey is not accurate. It says for my region the average salary is 48k you can only make that at a hospital here. Ive been in the field for 2 years but I finally got a job that pays over 40 im doing outpatient coding for a hospital that also employs physicians for offices.

    the CCS is harder. The CPC is multiple choice while the Coding portion of the CCS is fill in the blank. Very few hospitals will take the CPC lots of them wont even take the CPC-H. But dont let that stop you. I finally landed a job in a hospital with a CPC after looking for over 2 years.

    I know for this code you can bill it twice and commercial plans want 2 line items with a -59 on the 2nd one. At a previous job I had we were told by medicare that they want 87804 only 1 line item but 2 units and put the -59 on it, but does anyone have any documentation on this?
