Patient had a cyst removed outside our practice. He presents to our office with uncontrolled bleeding. Our physician consulted with the surgeon who did the procedure and was instructed to repack for 20 minutes and then repack with iodoform and redress wound. Patient continued to come to our office every 3 days to have packing removed and repacked. Is there a CPT code that we can use for dressing changes for a procedure done outside of our practice?

This was not really a superficial wound as it was bleeding through the packing for over 3 hours. Would 13160 be more appropriate as it was more of a complicated treatment that took more than 60 minutes of time in our office.

13160 would be performed in the OR. This is actual closure of he wound, not just repacking. So no.
